Pechanga Brew "fest" scam.
Hey Andy. I didn't mean to insult or fault any of the brewers. I know you didn't have any control over the event. I stand by my opinion of the event however. I don't like getting ripped off. 1oz does not equal 2oz. There were some good beers. Your hef was very nice too. As for "overwhelmingly positive" feedback. Lots of ass kissing or bad taste. Oh and chili does not pair with IPA's.
Lets try to keep the Trolling to a minimum please...
I agree with Eric. Lets keep our distance from any personal attacks, except in fun and jest.
From reports I have received the festival went well. It's the first year and it looks like they under estimated what was involved, and how popular it would be. A few of us in the club have been in touch with Andy and will try and work with him to help make the event better next year.
If anyone has any suggestions get them to me or Garry and we will forward them to Andy(from Pechanga).
As for Andy(BMB), I have never had a beer from him I did not like, and I feel confident enough in our friendship that if I had I could and would tell him.
All my coworkers that went loved your Hefe Andy.
I'm not worried about everybody liking my beer. I don't expect most people to like it. I don't even expect most people in the club to like it. Personally, I LOVE it. It's perfectly acceptable to tell a brewer that you don't like his beer. We all have different tastes. Calling it "shitty" is a bit abrasive, though.
In my opinion the worst "beer" is Budweiser. I think a fair amount of people on this board would agree. It is however the best selling "beer" in America. There is no accounting for taste.
Some of the conversations I had at the fest were of a marketing nature. I was in a discussion about the beer being served and it seemed that an opportunity was lost by some of the more established breweries. The beer they brought was the same stuff you could buy or get at a bar. If the "craft" in craft brewing was showcased I believe the beer would have not been judged so harshly. A lot of hard core beer enthusiasts showed for this thing and some rare or craft beer could have shined. Andy's did but his is already rare and ultra craft.
If Pechanga Andy wants input to make this a better fest, I am sure an advisory committee of club members would be more than willing to help next year to improve it. Who goes to more beer fests than us. We know what works and what doesn't.

Here's a few more pic's from the Beer Fest.
