Pechanga Brew "fest" scam.
Pechanga brew fest sucked big time. Waited in line the entire time for 1oz samples of shitty beer. It was a big time ripoff. Those who didn't attend, good for you.
Oh yea, $30 wasn't a bad price.. I feel bad for anyone who purchased the $100+ tix off craigslist.
And... here's a link to the pics we took at the fest and at Scott's party, some videos in there too.

I agree - waste of $30. I should have sold my tickets on Craigslist for $150/each. Party was awesome though :)
Sorry to hear that guys. I have heard good things from some of my co-workers, of course they are not homebrewers, and we homebrewers tend to be a bit picky about these things. Once you go to SCHF you are kinda spoiled.
All I have to say is the TVHA booth was the most happening place there. Randy and I were none stop talking to people about homebrew. The Cream Soda and Root Beer where huge hits. Both kegs emptied by 4pm. All of the Emporiums cards were gone and we passed out a lot of our club cards as well. Thanks to Tim and his Wife for bringing some Chili out to us! The booth we had was great. At first I was disapointed by not getting to taste the beer but then after hearing the wait I was glad I was where I was.
Oh yes, we also sold 5 glasses!
HUGE thanks to Eric and Randall. Sounds like you guys did a hell of a job. Maybe we will see even more new faces at the next meeting.
So here's my 2 cents worth.
The way I see it, it was a bargain. For $30.00 I got to taste 30 plus beers and make up my mind whether I liked them or not versus going out and buying them each one individually and paying $5.00 plus for them to determine that this is crap. Plus don't forget that there was some pretty good chili there and the sliders were ok also. Music wasn't bad either. Plus the exposure for the club was great.
IMHO
FYI - I thought the BMB brew was great and so did Elaine, non-beer drinker.
I also want to send a big thanks out to Andy from Pechanga for inviting us to participate in the event. It was great fun and great exposure for the club! THANKS!
Ouch!!!
Well, I tried my best to keep my line moving as quickly and as efficiently as possible. The breweries had no control over how fast the beers were poured, nor over the size of the pours. We were neither allowed to pour, nor drink any beer. I'm sorry that all of the beer sucked to you. Frankly, taste in anything... food, music, beer, etc., is pretty subjective. The beautiful thing about craft beer is that (when done for the right reasons) it's done as an expression of your art, not for a popularity contest. Some will appreciate it, some won't.
I have to say, though, that the feedback I got throughout the event was overwhelmingly positive, and while not the most fun event for all attendees, an extremely successful event for my brewery and the club.

Hopefully next year (if they have one) it'll be better. All in all it wasn't TOO bad, just some things to tweak out by the time they do another. I think it was great exposure for the club and the emporium though, with their booths right outside the bathrooms and entrance to the ballroom so you couldn't help pass by them.
