sweet thanks..wasnt sure how much barley to add..dont want it to end up being a porter lol
4 oz of roasted barley will add some roastiness to the flavor... if you just want color (red) use 1-2 oz instead.
Also, when you buy your hops, adjust your recipe alpha numbers based on what you buy. It will alter the out come some. Especially if your looking for more hoppiness.
k...when i buy them ill post them..i was goin for maybe to much roasted barley..just want a hint of roast so ill drop 2oz off my recipe and i do want hoppiness cuz this will be sligtly more abv than a normal red so need the hops to balance
Are you going for a strong red or a red IPA? If you are looking for a red IPA I'd probably double the amount of IBU's.
more of a red ipa..u think more hops? or stronger hops?
Do you plan on dry hopping this at all?
i do...and i plan on switching up the hops now that i researched it a bit more..going with pearle for my 60min and then fuggles and then the east goldings...dry hopping with 1 oz of goldings (its not much but it really is more of a stronger slightly hoppier red ale vs a true red ipa)
Sounds really good.

Looks good to me.
