Shipping beer
What is the best way to ship beer. I need to send 4 22oz. to Connecticut.
They way I ship is to first place the beer into a large ziplock bag. Then wrap in bubble wrap individually. Then place is a well bubble wrapped box. Basically you want to be confident that you could drop it from 6 ft and not break anything. Never let glass touch glass or one of the bottles touch the outer wall of the box.
What I need to know is why wont the mailbox place ship it, I didn't think it was illegal. Also if they wont ship what would be the best way to not get in trouble. Should I just lie?
USPS it is a federal offense to ship beer.
You typically get ship through Fed Ex or UPS just declare that it is Glassware. If you want to say it is beer, you have to pay more and fill out a document that specifically says it must be signed by a +21 year age.
I would lie, that's what I've done each time - I tell them it's homemade jelly and bring it to them already taped up. I once sent 2 beers to a friend in Munich and the German customs folks held it for a few months but my friend eventually went there and told them it's beer from America and they can try it if they wanted. They gave it to him and laughed.

Does it have to be shipped ground, or can you ship it air?
I ship 22s all the time and I have all the stuff to ship then safely via ground. Let me know if you need anything.

I have shipped via Air and Ground with no issues.
Nobody cares if you send yeast samples. The AHA website had a few days of talk concerning this last week. Yeast samples was the prefered method of declaration.

Check this out. Usa bubble wrap to fill the extra space. I ship stuff all over the country with these.
